First coat of American Clay Plaster

This is the before photo. Except for the furniture, this is what the room looked like when we moved in.

This is what it looked like a week ago, with some decorations up...

This is so far what we have done this week. We are not done and the plaster on the walls is not dry yet. It will look different when it is dry. Then we add another coat including mica. Um, and Maggie says hello, I would like to be in the photo, but only if I am blurry.

Stay tuned!

Can I sit up there yet?

No Rockaboy, it's not ready yet. Poor kitty already want's to use the windowsill. How sweet :) (Learn more about this kitty by clicking his nickname, he loves to talk about himself!)

The frames are done and the walls are primed with sanded primer for the American Clay Plaster. The cedar windowsills have been stained a dark rich brown and set into the deep window frame. They really look wonderful, and I will have color photos as soon as I can take a respectable one. :)

Everyone likes

Thank you to my followers, and a note on future "scheduled programming"

I just wanted to extend my gratitude to everyone who has been so supportive of me, and of others!

For the time being, I am keeping the giveaway post at the top of the page, so that everyone who wants to enter, can find it easily.

I have been asking around about what people want to see more of and have made some decisions about the ongoing edition of this blog...

This is a list of what to look forward to seeing during the next few months:

I will be updating the photography tutorial soon specifically as it applies to jewelry photography.
Stay tuned for more recipes including dinners and links to online stores where I get specialty products for cooking with.
I'll be promoting other handmade sellers as well
There will be ongoing special offers and giveaways.
I will probably be talking about my cats, the garden progress, the weather, and look forward to taking photos of the holiday decorations at my house.

Let me know if you want to add anything else! I always enjoy your input!

The house of poo, kitty litter rolling sh*tter...

Omega-Self-Cleaning-Litter It works how? Well, like this.

The house of poo.... the HOP if you will spends it's days collecting . Maggie fits fine, and Rocky, all 16 pounds of his fuzzy Maine Coon self, also, fits fine. Granted, his head sticks out while he is doing deposits.
When collections are done for the day, roll the HOP. The good stuff collects in the little.. collection pan, and the bigger stuff keeps rolling, rolling along....

See, just like I said. That one is Maggie's. She makes them more petite.

Then the dump over onto the top of the pan, and as you roll it back, the deposits stay in the little drawer. The good litter falls back out of it's "safety zone" ready for more deposits. It's good to shake it around a little so the litter settles flat. My kitties prefer their litter flat.

Look, a little drawer of fun! TaDa! Want one? We got ours here.

Crispy

So, I did what I said I was going to do. Got up, did my AM Yoga, had breakfast, and went for a walk. It is very crispy out, a slight degree above freezing. Saw plenty of little winged foragers.

There was a knock on the door at 8:30 this morning, which is unheard of. But it was just the insurance guy needing to measure the house. Did some money saving adjustments.

Rocky freaked out as usual to any idea of another person coming to the house. The cats just sit there at the end of the hall peeking out with wide kitty eyes. They are so funny.

I think I'll make some earrings.

Ears to the window...

Recently Maggie Magpie and Rocky Tom Glamour boy Shock and Awe Rockstar have been hanging out together. Not because they are both sleeping on the bed, but actually sitting side by side. They admire the outside and enjoy the drafty sliding door.

There must be moths out there again. Rocky patiently waits till one is able to come into the house when we open the door...

But what is this, there are no moths. Are they just enjoying each others company?

No. It is a rat.
He's a cute rat that eats our pumpkin outside. Upon further inspection, he has also chewed holes into the rubber ducky that will no longer be floating in our basin.

His name is Jack the Nipper, and he is our rat, and we love him, and so do the cats.

monkeys with ropes

It had to be done. Now tree feels much better. It had a "haircut". It's good that there are these guys, because there were some big old branches that needed down.

When the wind blows, the limbs rattle around all over. I just assumed that having human up there would make the branches wobble, but no, humans are nothing compared to the wind. I know this, its no secret to me. Hundred pound limbs were thudding to the ground under me.

I invited the kitties to see what was going on, but Maggie was not interested. Rocky listened from a distance with his satellite ears moving around in every direction.

Goodmorning, it's noon...

It's not noon yet. Noon is in one half hour. Please do not consider that daylight savings time started this morning and it is actually more like 12:30...

I have been knitting by the wood stove with tea recently. So far I have made 2 scarves which were gifted to Marge and Jade when I was able to tag along on a Young family trip. I didn't get photos....oops. Marge's was a heavyweight cabernet red, ribbed scarf (K2, P2). Jade's was a thin basic grey knitted scarf in some very lovely alpaca! As I was getting toward the end of the second ball I became alarmed that I would need another, so I went out right then to JoAnns to try to find it.... and realized that it was from Michaels....

Turns out that I didn't need any more. So now I have 2 balls to make something else.... I am now accepting bribes....

My current project (I try not to start more than one at a time...) is another scarf in K2, P2 for James. It is a beautiful pumpkin orange wool blend. Maggie loves to sit on it while I am knitting. In fact, the alpaca yarn, she loves to attack. Alpaca Attacka. I found her biting Jade's scarf one day... No more cute baskets of yarn around the house...just cute baskets of kitties.
